Macau January 2014

We did a day trip to Macau from Hong Kong by ferry.  Macau has a number of casino's, and has a far bigger turnover
than Las Vegas in the USA.  It is also a Special Administrative Region of China like Hong Kong.
We visited the the ruins of St Paul,  then we had a wander around Senado Square.
Lunch was at a pancake restaurant - very nice.  The street where we had lunch - green theme going on here.
A view from the Macau Tower looking out over Macau and China.  China is in the top left of the photo.
A crowded touristy street.  Jonathan buying some sweet pork jerky which was very nice.  The 'Grand Lisboa' a hotel and casino which we had a wander around.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong viewed from Mount Victoria.
Jonathan and I over looking Hong Kong.  The scaffolding in HK is always interesting.  Shark fins in a shop.
Julie, Raphy, Michelle, Stephen and Jonathan on the subway.  It was generally pretty funny travelling with
Michelle on the subway, she got stuck in the train door, dropped her ticket under the train, got stuck in the turn style thing leaving the metro (she did that more than once).  Had us all in fits of laughter.
Ferry between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.  Hong Kong by night viewed from Kowloon
Jonathan on a ferry.  The trams.  Mexican restaurant with huge helpings.  A line of taxis.

Zhangjiajie Forest Park, Hunan Province, China. January 2014

The sandstone pillars in the park are just amazing.
Looking down on the monkeys that were sitting on the top of a tree was cool.
Our group by a natural bridge - Stephen, Michelle, Raphy, Julie and Jonathan.
The restaurants were freezing but we had some very nice food.  Required attire for a 200 meter slide.

The hole in the rock is huge, a jet has flown through it.  Jonathan and I on the glass walkway.
Cindy, Raphy, Michelle, Stephen and Jonathan.  Jonathan on the normal walkway.

We enjoyed a short boat trip in the park.  Woman washing clothes in the rivers is very common in the country.
The water would have been bloody cold as well.
People in the park.
